Good morning all

Sorry I haven't posted in a while I have been sick ...really my whole house is sick!

I hope to be back up and running for the start of the new year.

I visited Cindy @ Royal things and she makes the most awesome cards with matching boxes ..

I tryed a couple ,here is my first set.....Let me tell you I love this it makes for such a nice gift!

Thanks Cindy for the inspiration.

I made these as thank yous for a couple of people.....I will post the next set later.

I made a 6x6 easel card...you all know I love these ...but I love them even more now!

Box is 8 1/4 x 8 1/4 score 1 inch on all sides , fold all sides and cut the little flaps fold and glue ...you have a box ! Do the same for the lid.

Origami Box

Ok this is my 2nd post of the day ...do you believe it !

I had fun with the origami and I found this video on youtube for this great box.

This box is sooooo EASY to make you will have it done in 1-2-3 I promise.

I made this for Courtney's bus driver , gonna put cookies in it.

Origami Star

Good Friday to you all

Well I woke up this morning to a winter storm watch.....We are gonna get 6ins of snow or better (yippy ) ...NOT ! On the plus side I guess we are going to have a white Christmas.

Any way Courtney can't wait to go sled riding and guess who gets to go with her...( ME )

I decided to give Origami a try

I made my first Origami Star its not perfect but I think I did pretty darn good .

I added pearl beads and a glitter snow flake

Wire for the hanger and topped it off with a big white bow.

Sponge Bob Gift

Hi all

I thought I would share with you what I made for my soon to be ...Grandson.

I made this for a sweet heart of a little boy Ryan, he is the Son of my Daughters fiance.

He is 5 years old and he is such a cutie pie. I have 2 Grand Daughters so it is nice to finally get to do some boy things ...all though Courtney wants a Sponge Bob too!

He wanted me to make him a Sponge Bob character for a while now and I was busy and forgot so I made this 12 X 12 layout and framed it for him...I hope he likes it.

I used

Sponge Bob cricut cart & Sesame Street

Sesame cart for Ryan cut @ 2ins and put on chip board

pineapple cut @ 8ins inked around windows and door.

characters cut @ 4ins

treasure chest cut @ 3ins

jelly fish cut @ 2in & 1 1/2ins

seaweed 1 1/2 ins and 2ins

tore the paper and inked and layered it to look like sand

storybook cart scallop cut @ fit to page for the overlay edge.... I tryed to incorporate orange because that is his favorite color.

Christmas gifts

Good Friday to you all

It is a COLD one here 15 and wind chill of 5 below...Brrrrrr

I made these for Practical Scrappers the design team was ask to make gift wrap or a gift .

The first one is a chip board house that I tied together with ribbon .

I did it in vintage style the pics don't show the true colors , it is very nice!

The second one is a gift for My Grand Daughter Courtney's teacher.

It is a tissue box cover , these are really easy to make I will be making a couple more .

I used Sesame street & locker talk cricut cartridges for this.

For the box there is no measurements I just folded it til I got a box. Then I did the same for the lid.

very easy simple card to make.....

just make slots in the corners then cut ribbon a little long than the slots tie a knot in it and tuck the end in the slot tape and your done !

Set of 3 easy Trees/Cricut spotlight

Good morning

I know it is Tuesday but with the kids going back to school today it feels like a Monday to me.

I am so sorry I have not posted in sooooo long, I have been feeling really blah lately ...NO MOJO ! I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.....

Well I made this for Practical Scrappers but I sent it in to Cricut spotlight and guess what

IT WON !....I never thought it would win, So I figured I would post it now. Now I have to make something else....MOJO were are you...lol

These trees were so easy to make the directions seems like a lot but they go together very easy and fast. I think they make very nice decorations, and they don't have to be just for Christmas.

I have a few other ideas for them.

Tree decoration recipe

1. 3/16 in wood dowels (3 of them ) cut @ 16ins for lg tree/ 14ins for med tree/12ins for sm tree.

2. 3 large wooden spools

3. 3 wood stars

4. 30 sm wood spools

5. red & white paint

6. George cricut cart

7. tulle

8. wire

9. ribbon

Use George cart for circles for Lg tree cut @ 6ins/5 1/2 , 5 , 4 1/2, 4, 3 1/2, 3, 2 1/2,and 2ins

Med tree circles cut @ 5ins, 4 1/2, 4 , 3 1/2, 3, 2 1/2, and 2 ins.

Sm tree circles cut @ 4 ins, 3 1/2, 3, 2 1/2, and 2 ins.

George also for the Star tree topper cut 2 @ 2in and shadowed for lg tree, med& sm tree 1 1/2 in.

paint sm spools 15 red 15 white

big spools are white and paint the top of the wooden dowel white, I wrapped some paper around the lg spools also.

add ribbon and tie some tulle , coil some wire and glue the star to it for tree top.

This sounds a lot harder than it is if you use the picture for reference it is easy!

I painted the wood stars red and glittered them glue the lg spool on to the star then glue the wood dowel in the lg spool and to make them more sturdy I glued the first sm wood spool to the lg spool.

Card Tuesday at PS

Good morning all

Today is card Tuesday and my first entry as Designer at Practical Scrappers.

We were to make something using stitching either hand or machine...I did both !

I made an easel card of course....

I found this cool patterned paper online and it looked like a quilt,,,,so I used my sewing machine and stitched the squares like a quilt. Then I hand stitched the snow flake and 2 hearts/ added a couple buttons with string. Sheer ribbon. pom pom ribbon and a glittered snow flake.

I used a matching paper for the bottom ans cut it out with the cricut using storybook cart several times inked the edges and heat embossed Merry Christmas with Green embossing powder.

cuttle bug embossing folder snow flakes ,did a zig zag stitch on it with my machine and added another glitter snow flake.

I cut the corner as a tirangle then used Martha Stewart scallop punch .

Come on over and play with use ....It's a lot of fun !

Well this is another Sunday no church, I don't think we have been to church in a month.

I made this card and gift box for some friends of ours , they made up Courtney a basket full of beauty supplies, she loves to play dress up and do hair ...she makes Pappy up real GOOD !!!!

He helps anyone in need ...He is just such a busy person....I think he needs to slow down and enjoy live and I tell him that all the time..So I thought this card was perfect for him....

Karate/ card for Jaimie

Hi again this is my 2ND post of the day

I did a challenge over at saturdayspotlight and I was checking some of the others work and happened across this blog It had such heart breaking story about this little girl Jaimie...

They were asking everyone to make her cards

She is 11 years old and on Oct 4 while Jaimie and her mom slept 4 teens broke in to their house with knives to rob and kill all in side. her Mom was brutally murdered and she was seriously injured. I would like to ask all that read this to please check out this web site that I am gonna post in my side bar it has all the details and send her a card to help lift her spirits.....and if you do they are giving away so many prizes...

I found out that she likes karate and has a black belt, so I found this cute stick figure on line and printed it out....

sheet music and paper doll from the Internet , added some lace/ribbon/flower/snowflake ornament/ I doubled the buttons white ,red/ gems and pop dots.

I stamped Season's greetings and then heat embossed it .

Sweet heart Cricut cart for the cartoche...it is the frame that the picture is on....I cut it @ 3ins 5 times

glued the layers together then got this vintage post card pic and traced it, cut it out and added it to the frame...inked and sanded the edges...I love that look.

Bingo card from Internet added Happy Thanksgiving and inked it.

Well I was feeling good enough to stay up and I thought I should so I did the 3 in one challenge

This is a layout of our last trip to Disney in May 09...oh I so want to go back!

I used Mickey and Friends cart for....Mickey cut @ 3 1/2 ins and pop dotted

Film strip cut @ 3 1/4 ins

Disney cut @ 3ins and pop dotted doodled too.

Hands & Mickey ears boarders cut @ 1 in and pop dotted

Mickey & Friends Font cart for Owl cut with silhouette 1 1/2 ins

Ribbon , I used a picture frame that came in a packet I bought at Disney.

Lace and I used my Disney tape that I got in Disney for the strip down the side of the film strip

and punched it with Martha Stewart small heart punch.

Smypathy card

Good morning all

Well I really think I have the flu...I layed on the couch all day yesterday

Got up today and feel like crap!...so guess what right back to the couch today also.

My Mom went to church last night and they said their are a lot of people at the church that are sick... a couple of them are in the hospital... So I am thankful I am not that bad.

Now on with my card

I made this card for my Husbands friend at work, his Grandma died.

I am gonna try to give you the card recipe ...He took the card today....so I have to remember....lol

I used Cricut cart Story book pg 53 & 49 accent blackout 49 cut @ 3ins & 53 cut @ 2ins.

Cricut cart Paper doll dress up for the fence cut @ 2ins and inked, I added tiny leaves from a dollar punch and added raffia and lace/ leaf stamp

Cricut cart Pooh & Friends for grass cut @ 1 1/2 ins Pumpkins cut several times 2ins.

Brads and I made the cornstalk out of raffia and added a paper flower

pop dots/ inked the edges

So I am not doing so good here remembering....I think that is it

Good morning all

This is a quick post as I am feeling a little under the weather today

I woke up this morning with a killer sore throat a really rough raspy voice and feeling yuky.....

I guess its that time of the year!

Any way back to crafts I liked the first treat bag so much I made more...I am gonna fill them with goodies and give them to my Grand kids for trick or treat.

Hi everyone...I did this card for 2 challenges

Wow I can't believe I did 2 posts in one day...that's a record for me...lol

For Occ challenge we were ask to Create a card or a project inspired by your favorite holiday book or movie. Christmas is my Favorite time of the year and I love everything about it....

So for mine I choose One of my many favorites The Polar Express...

I used Martha Stewart scalloped boarder punch

Cuttle bug embossing folder Swiss dots & Swirls

Cricut Calligraphy cart for the title that I welded and cut with Design Studio.

Cricut cart Joys of the Season for the bell cut @ 2 ins / pop dotted and added a string.

used gold foil paper for the bell and Believe

And red sheer ribbon....

This is a copy of a picture of my Mom & Dad when they were dating...He came home on leave from the Navy...pic was taken in 1944.

Martha Stewart boarder punch combo ( deco fan )...I really like how easy this is to add the corners to the boarder...somebody came up with a great idea!

Distressed and inked the paper

Paper is from K & Company's Life's Journey paper pack.

The tags/flowers/stamp, ticket and paper clip all came from a kit ( Making Memories ) vintage findings...part of the goodies I won from Rose....

The leaf was inked and cut from Cricut cartridge A Child's year cut @ 1 1/2

The Title was cut @ 2 ins Cricut cartridge A child's year

Letter brads...silk flowers

The tag with the date on it is from Cricut cartridge Storybook....cut @ 2 1/2 ins and layered on top of another tag inked and pop dotted added some pearls and brads...ribbon I inked and string....Lace and pom pom garland.....

Cuttle bug embossing folder Haunted House....used purple stickles in the windows and chalked it...then pop dotted it.

Chalked the card and doodled it.

I think I am really starting to like them.

So on this one they wanted witches bats or Halloween basically

So this is what I come up with

A card that has a lot of layering , I distressed the edges of the paper and inked them.

And I love this color scheme....

attached that to a big button and added thread.

The picture is from the Internet along with 2 you , pop dotted them added corner punches from E K success, and put it on a nestie....

Let it Snow / O C C Challenge

I used Cricut cart A Child's year for..... the tag card cut @ 6ins and embossed with cuttle bug folder Swiss dots.

Stamps and Smiles ...Snowman /Let it Snow ....... I love these stamps....Thanks Rose!

mat behind let it snow I cut with decorative scissors.

added striped paper at the top of the card ...doodled ...pop dotted the gloves and scarf of snowman...colored with pencils and oms.

added the brown ribbon /pearls....and google eyes.

distressed the paper and inked it with Tim Holtz vintage photo ink.

Added pearls / lace/ fibers /Oct 3 D Sticker/ Martha Stewart Creepy branch punch.

Big Flower that I stamped on....and pop dotted....Bat Girl from computer ,matted and pop dotted.

Sweet heart cricut cart for the picture mat cut @ 6ins and cuttle bug embossed with swirls folder....

OCC Challenge

Good Monday all

An update on Courtney...she stayed home from school today still not feeling up to par yet but doing better. The Church outing went really good...lots of food and every one had a great time.

I made this card for the OCC challenge.

I think this might be the first time I made a card with out the cricut....lol

Not much in way of a recipe this card was pretty simple....

used a vintage pic from the Internet cropped it and pop dotted it . Matted 2 rectangles and a oval ...doodled them.

hand scribbled happy Halloween and pop dotted it.

ribbon , witch hat button and some black skittles...cuttle bugged with pumpkin embossing.

oh and tore the background paper...

That easy!
